President Julius Maada Bio has arrived in New York ahead of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly, saying he looks forward to a productive High-Level Week focused on key global engagements and advancing Sierra Leone’s national interests.

President Bio confirmed his arrival in a statement, noting that this year’s General Assembly is being convened under the theme, “Restoring trust, managing transformation: A United Nations that delivers for all.”

“I look forward to a productive High-Level Week, marked by meaningful participation in key events and bilateral meetings aimed at advancing our national interests,” President Bio said.

The President’s participation comes as world leaders gather at the United Nations headquarters in New York for the high-level segment of the General Assembly.

For Sierra Leone, the engagements are expected to provide an opportunity to advance the country’s priorities through multilateral discussions, bilateral meetings and other high-level events during the week.
