President of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio has revoked the Presidential pardon granted to herbalist, Baimba Moiforay popularly known as LAC.

President Julius Maada Bio had on January, 1 2022 released Baimba Moiforay and 159 other prisoners from Prison as a Presidential pardon pursuant to S. 40 (4) (e) and S. 63 of the 1991 Constitution of Sierra Leone Act No. 6.

One of the prisoner, LAC sentenced for the murdering of Sydney David Buckle widely known as DJ Clef in 2015.

Meanwhile, the controversial release of a convicted murderer LAC who is yet to complete one fourth of his sentence at the male Correctional sentence has attracted wide criticism from Sierra Leoneans.

In a statement signed by the Presidential Spokesman on Monday, the general public is hereby informed that His Excellency, President Dr. Julius Maada Bio has instituted an investigation into the process leading to the granting of pardon to Baimba Moiforay (alias LAC) on 1st January 2022 pursuant to Section 63 (1) (a) of the Constitution of Sierra Leone, 1991 (Act No 6. of 1991)

Consequent upon the foregoing, His Excellency, President Dr. Julius Maada Bio has revoked with immediate effect  the clemency granted to Baimba Moiforay (alias LAC) on 1st January 2022.
