President Julius Maada Bio has dismissed Mohamed Fuaad Daboh from his position as Director General of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT), replacing him with Chernor Mamoud Jalloh in a major leadership shake-up at the state-run social security institution.
The decision was announced in a public notice issued by the Office of the President at State House on 21 July 2026 as part of a broader set of presidential appointments and reassignments. The appointments remain subject to parliamentary approval where required by law.
Daboh, who had served as Director General of NASSIT since 2018, exits the institution after nearly eight years at the helm. His removal comes at a time when the Trust has faced increasing public attention over its operations and management.
In addition to appointing Jalloh as the new Director General, President Bio named Ms Jenneh Jabati as Chairperson of the NASSIT Board of Trustees. Former Minister of Youth Affairs, Mr Mohamed Bangura, was also appointed Deputy Director General for Administration and Finance.
The new leadership team is expected to oversee the management and administration of NASSIT, the institution responsible for administering pensions and social security benefits for workers across Sierra Leone.
Once approved by Parliament where applicable, Jalloh, Bangura, and the newly constituted Board of Trustees will formally assume office and begin leading the Trust under the new administration.
The appointments form part of President Bio’s ongoing efforts to restructure leadership across key public institutions and strengthen governance within the country’s public service.
