President Julius Maada Bio has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with Paramount Chiefs as part of efforts to enhance governance, security, and peace across Sierra Leone.
Speaking after a consultation with Paramount Chiefs in Bo, President Bio described the traditional leaders as the backbone of effective governance, noting that they play a critical role in maintaining a strong connection with their communities and supporting national development.
The President emphasized that his administration remains committed to working closely with Paramount Chiefs at the chiefdom level to strengthen governance, improve security, and build greater trust between communities and the state.
“As a son of a Paramount Chief, today’s consultation with our esteemed Paramount Chiefs in Bo reaffirms our resolve to work with these leaders to enhance security, promote peace, and achieve impactful outcomes,” President Bio stated.
He noted that the partnership between government and traditional authorities is essential for addressing local challenges, promoting social cohesion, and ensuring sustainable development across the country.
The consultation forms part of the government’s continued engagement with traditional leaders aimed at reinforcing peace, fostering inclusive governance, and advancing national development initiatives through stronger collaboration with chiefdom authorities.
