Sierra Leone’s President, Julius Maada Bio, and his wife, Fatima Maada Bio, have arrived in London to attend the coronation of HM King Charles and Queen Camelia at Westminster Abbey on May 6th, 2023.

The President and First Lady were warmly welcomed to London by a Special Representative of HM King Charles’ government at the VVIP Lounge of the Windsor Suite at Heathrow International Airport.

King Charles will be crowned alongside his wife, who will assume the title of Queen Camilla instead of Queen Consort following the ceremony.

The last coronation ceremony held in Britain took place 70 years ago when Charles’ mother, Queen Elizabeth, ascended the throne after the passing of her father in 1953.
