Sierra Leone’s Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, is in Geneva to take part in the 31st AFS Youth Assembly, where he is expected to share Sierra Leone’s experience in civic education and youth empowerment.
The three-day gathering, running from 12 to 14 August at the World Health Organization Headquarters, brings together young people and leaders from more than 100 countries to exchange ideas on youth leadership, civic participation and major global challenges.
Minister Bah was welcomed in Geneva by Sierra Leone’s Deputy Ambassador to Switzerland, Samuel UB Saffa.
As part of the programme, Bah will deliver a keynote address during a plenary session and participate in a special fireside discussion examining the role of civic education in equipping young people to become active participants in society.
His contributions will highlight Sierra Leone’s efforts to expand opportunities for young people to participate in civic affairs and engage in discussions on issues affecting their communities and the wider nation.
Bah is also a member of the AFS Youth Assembly Global Leadership Council, giving him an additional role in shaping discussions around youth leadership and global civic engagement.
