Young people from China and Sierra Leone have come together in Freetown to celebrate 55 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries through a friendship run.
The China-Sierra Leone Youth Run Along China-Sierra Leone Friendship Road was held on July 26 in Freetown and was hosted by the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Sierra Leone and organised by China Railway 7th Group (SL) Co., Ltd.
The event brought together 55 young participants from both countries, including young diplomats from the Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone.
The run was organised to mark the anniversary of China-Sierra Leone diplomatic ties and to promote friendship, cultural exchange, and cooperation among young people.
The event also formed part of activities celebrating the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, highlighting the role of youth in strengthening relations between China and African countries.
The participants used the occasion to celebrate unity, friendship, and the strong relationship between the people of China and Sierra Leone.
