CNN investigation has revealed that the Government of Sierra Leone shut down internet in the county in order to prevent protesters from sharing images of police brutality to the outside world.

On August 10 2022, hundreds of people took to the streets of Sierra Leone to protest inflation and the rising cost of living.

CNN’s Katie Polglase speaks to a man who says his friend was shot dead by police.

According to the man, his friend was targeted because they were filming the protest and that the government didn’t want the foreign media to know about what actually happened.
