Sierra Leone Commercial Bank Kicks Off Payment to Customers in New Leone
Salamatu Y. Kamara With no time to waste after the launch of the new notes by President Bio, Sierra Leone Commercial Bank (SLCB) has commenced payment to its loyal customers in earnest.
The customers stormed the various branches of the bank across the country amidst the launch and their staff were on top of the situation in issuing payment of cheques and other withdrawal documents in the new Leones.
SLCB has been on record as the leading commercial bank that engaged all community radio stations nationwide through jingles to sensitise the masses about the new notes before being launched today.
In a meeting with the customers, the Managing Director of SLCB, Yusuf Abdul Silla, assured the customers that banking operations today would be running up to 6 pm to respond to all financial transactions.
Customers were excited about the new notes and appreciated the efforts of SLCB staff, notably the management to sensitize them on transactions.
