The main opposition party in Sierra Leone, All People’s Congress (APC) has been greeted with different issues within the party as court action awaits the party following its decision to hold a National Delegates Conference from 17th-19th February 2023 to elect a new national executive and a presidential candidate to contest in the June 24 elections.
It is noted that Samuel Sumana, the former Vice President of Sierra Leone from 2007-2018 and Alfred Peter Conteh’s lawyers have filed papers asking the court to place an injunction on the APC National Delegates Conference.
Chernor Sesay aka Gadhafi, who is a member of the Interim Transitional Governance Committee (ITGC) representing Alfred Peter Conteh’s group, is the Lead Plaintiff for an inasking for an injunction on the APC National Delegates Conference.
The injunction will be a setback for APC to pick its candidates for the 24th June 2023 multitier elections party.
Recently, several person have declared their interest in the flagbearer positionincluding former minister, Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara.
