Court Fines APC Publicity Secretary Le10,000 for Contempt, Bans Media Interviews for 60 Days
The High Court of Sierra Leone, presided over by Justice Adrian Fisher, has fined former All Peoples Congress (APC) Deputy National Publicity Secretary Mohamed Pope Kamara Le10,000 for contempt of court and barred him from granting media interviews and posting on social media for 60 days.
Kamara appeared before Justice Fisher on Monday, 19 October 2026, over allegations that he continued to present himself as the APC’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary despite a court order directing him to stop doing so.
In its ruling, the court imposed a fine of Le10,000 (ten thousand new leones), with an alternative sentence of 14 days at the Male Correctional Centre if he fails to pay.
The court further restricted Kamara from granting media interviews and posting on social media for 60 days as part of the sanctions imposed in the contempt proceedings.
The fine is to be paid within three hours, according to the information provided on the court’s decision. Failure to meet the deadline could result in him serving the alternative custodial sentence.
