Seventh prosecution witness, Maada Bundeh in the on-going parliamentary investigation into the alleged murder case involving General Manager at Skype Bank, Ikubolaje Nicol, has on Tuesday 10th January 2023 testified that the deceased had confided in him that a medical doctor had told her that she will die if she did not cut down on many things.

Led in evidence by State Counsel, Aruna Jalloh, the witness, Bundeh an employee of Skye Bank, recalled that on the 16th October, 2022, he got a call from his boss (the accused) at around 7am in the morning. He told the Court that his boss informed him that he had an attack at home and asked him to meet him at Shuman Hospital.

The witness continued that he boarded a motorbike for the hospital. Bundeh disclosed that when he got to the Hospital, he met two nurses, a male and a female upon arrival at the hospital the witness said he explained to the nurses that his boss that asked him to come but was told that his boss had left and that the corpse of the lady that died had been placed inside the accused’s vehicle that was packed outside

The witness mentioned that, before long, he saw the house help of the accused, Salifu. The witness added that he was told that the hospital hasn’t got an ambulance or Mortuary.

In this occurrence the witness said he called on his boss to see that he came to the hospital but could not find him, but he told the court that his boss informed him that he had gone to Goderich.

The witness revealed that and some of the domestic staff of the accused drove the vehicle where the corpse was placed to Columbia Davis Funeral Home where he provided the personal details of the deceased, Bundeh told the court that he left for work after the deceased was placed at the Funeral Home. Later on Bundeh mentioned that he met with the accused and defence counsel, lawyer wright at Tengbeh Town, adding that another lawyer, Anrite Thompson showed up later on and another individual named Sydney who may disclose is an in-law to the diseased.

He told the court that Sydney drove him and others to the Mortuary where they also met with other relatives of the deceased. He also disclosed that he the relatives of the diseased insisted on seeing the accused person, adding that arguments ensured between the family members and the accused when he later showed up at the scene. Bundeh narrated that while the argument continued police officers showed up and arrested the accused.

He revealed that the deceased had been the girlfriend of the accused since their days at college.

During the cross examination the witness disclosed that the accused went to Wilberforce to meet with the deceased mother. He also told the court that the accused had earlier told him that he and the deceased mother had agreed to take the corpse to mortuary.

He maintained that the arguments at the mortuary were because the family members alleged that the accused did not take the diseased to the Shuman Hospital.

He told the court that the deceased told him that a doctor had told her to cut down on certain things or she will die ‘’She sent a text to me not to inform the accused about what we had discussed’’ he added

After cross-examination, the prosecution indicated that they may lead nine witnesses. The accused Ikubolaje Nicol, who happens to be the General Manager of Skye Bank, is before the court on three counts charges of conspiracy to commit murder, murder contrary to law and preventing the corpse of justice contrary to law.

According to the police, the accused person on the 16th October 2022 conspired together with another person unknown to murder Sinnah Kai Kargbo.

Magistrates Marke Ngegba has adjourned the matter to Tuesday 17th January 2023. The accused remains in custody.
