Aiah Edward Samadia, Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Sierra Leone Police, has officially retired, effective Wednesday, February 5, 2025, having reached the mandatory retirement age.

Samadia was appointed to the position by the Police Council on July 13, 2024, following the death of his predecessor, DIG Kaillie, who fell ill shortly after his own appointment.

Notably, DIG Samadia is the first Deputy Inspector General to retire from the Sierra Leone Police.

Previously, individuals holding this position had either been dismissed or removed from office.
