The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a coalition of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen democratic governance and promote the conduct of free, fair, credible, and inclusive elections in Sierra Leone.
The participating organisations include: Centre for Accountability and Rule of Law – Sierra Leone (CARL-SL), Elections Observers Network (EON), Youth Network in Elections and Governance (YONEG), Men on a Mission – Global, Sierra Leone Association for the Blind (SLBA) and Sierra Leone Commercial Motor Bike Riders Union (SLCOMBRU).
This step is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen collaboration between ECSL and key stakeholders in promoting transparency, accountability, and public participation in the electoral process.

Furthermore, according to ECSL, the strategic collaboration reflects a shared commitment to deepening civic engagement, strengthening electoral processes, and fostering public confidence in Sierra Leone’s democratic journey.
The MoU is expected to set out clear areas of cooperation, including civic education, voter awareness, electoral monitoring support, and the promotion of peaceful democratic participation across the country.
