The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has announced that the June 2023 general elections will be conducted in 11,832 Polling Stations located in 3,630 Polling Centers across the country.

This information was given to Journalists during an online engagement with the Media Directorate of the ECSL, according to the Awareness Times.

They reported that the ECSL has also released the quantum of money required for various Nomination processes as well as the time frame period within which all nominations for various categories of contestants, should be completed.

“The Nomination Fees for those contesting are all stated by ECSL to be consonant with the Public Elections Act 2022. They are calculated using a mathematical formula that involves the country’s minimum daily wage,” the report stated.

The report further noted that the nomination date of Paramount Chiefs and Members of Parliament will be between the 30th of March and to 1st of April 2023, Ordinary Members of Parliament between the 30th of April to the 9th of May 2023, and all Local Councils elective positions will be between the 19th to 28th of April 2023.
