Deborah Sorie The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) of Sierra Leone is urging the public to ignore misleading social media claims offering 70KWh free electricity as a New Year’s gift.
In a statement on Tuesday, EDSA clarified that this information is completely false and a deliberate attempt to misinform the public.
The fake news claims originated from a bogus website (edsa.sl.officialgovt.site) not affiliated with EDSA. The Authority emphasized that they have not made any such announcement through any official channels.
