Folk Singer Fantacee Wiz Educates Sierra Leonean Women About Private Area Cleansing
Morlai Ibrahim Kamara Famous Sierra Leone Female Musician Fantacee Wizz has updated her Facebook followers on how to cleanse the female genital area
“The Social media Influencer posted on her Facebook “a Vagina Cleanse Update; Wash your Vulva With warm water not hot . Use plain unperfumed soaps to wash the area around the Vagina gently everyday. Spread your lips apart and gently clean around the folds with a clean washcloth or your hands. Remember to avoid getting water or soap inside your vagina.”
However, According to Dr Debra Rose Wilson(PHD) the Vagina is a Self-cleaning organ that does not require special cleaning product. It does not even need any product at all.
She believes some people may want to clean the Vulva, which is the outer portion of the genitals that surrounds the entrance to the Vagina. Doing this can help many people feel cleaner and, as a result, more confident.
She concluded that in this case, they should clean the Vulva lips gently. Excessive cleaning can have negative effects.
Attempts to clean the Vagina with douches or similar product may cause inflammation alter the vagina PH.
Discussions about Reproductive Organ Cleansing is a sensitive topic to be discussed in public especially in Sierra Leone. But, it appears Wizz is striving to break the stereotype.
