As the world recognize and celebrate Menstruation Day, First Lady Fatima Bio as part of her flagship program ”Hands Off Our Girls”, ensures that more awareness is raised about it in Sierra Leone and endeavors to stop it from being an impediment to the educational growth of Girls in school through the Free Sanitary Pad Project, which effect has been amplified throughout the whole nation, and has been replicated by other countries from the actions of Her excellency.

Madam Fatima Bio believes that Menstruation is not a choice, therefore sanitary pads must be made accessible and free to girls, as girls do not deserve to be absent from school half a term in a whole academic year just because they do not have an alternative menstrual care system that secures their wellness during their menstrual circle.

Free Sanitary pad as an auxiliary project under the Hands Off Our Girls Campaign, continues to advocate to Government and Private Sector to ensure girls are safe and comfortable during their menstrual circle by providing Sanitary Towels for them, as it is one step to ensure equal right to education for girls.

First Lady Fatima Bio is committed to continue advocating for the rights of girls in Sierra Leone, as it is part of His Excellency’s Human Capital Development Goal agenda and the impact of it so far has been a huge success.
