Felei TechCity, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation (MoCTI), with support from the International Labour Organization (ILO), has concluded a Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) Training of Trainers programme aimed at strengthening entrepreneurship support across Sierra Leone.

The training brought together 30 professionals from nine districts, including women leaders, government representatives, innovation and incubation hub members, business development professionals, microfinance representatives, and private sector stakeholders.
The programme focused on equipping participants with practical business management skills to support entrepreneurs in starting, managing, and growing sustainable businesses.

Developed by the International Labour Organization, SIYB is a globally recognized business training programme that provides entrepreneurs with practical tools and structured methods for business development. The programme has been implemented in more than 100 countries worldwide.
Participants were trained on approaches they can use to guide entrepreneurs and small business owners within their communities and organizations.
Among those trained were 10 women, five government representatives, five participants from innovation and incubation hubs, and 15 business development professionals.
Following the completion of the training, participants are expected to transfer the knowledge gained to entrepreneurs and business owners in their respective communities, helping to strengthen Sierra Leone’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Organizers said building a stronger business environment requires investing in the people and institutions that support entrepreneurs.
