In a poignant display of solidarity and respect, Sierra Leone’s First Lady, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, stood shoulder to shoulder with mourners and family members to bid farewell to the late Hon. P.C. Aiah Melvin Ngekia II of Kamara Chiefdom.

The funeral, held at the Tombodu UMC Church in Tombodu  gathered dignitaries, stakeholders, and community members alike to pay their last respects to the departed soul. 

Dr. Fatima Bio’s presence at the service underscored the significance of honoring the life and legacy of Hon. P.C. Aiah Melvin Ngekia II. In her address to the congregation, she offered heartfelt condolences and paid homage to the late Paramount Chief, highlighting his commitment to his faith, his people, and his Chiefdom.

Today, we gather to bid farewell to a remarkable individual who dedicated his life to serving God and his community. Hon. P.C. Aiah Melvin Ngekia II leaves behind a legacy of selflessness and compassion that will be remembered by generations to come,” remarked the First Lady.

Her Excellency’s presence served as a poignant reminder of the nation’s unity and solidarity in times of grief. As she joined in prayer for the departed soul, Dr. Fatima Bio exemplified the empathy and compassion that define Sierra Leonean society.

She acknowledged the efforts and gains made by the late Paramount Chief in elevating the lives of his people in the chiefdom and called on them to always amplify the good things and build upon them for the development of the chiefdom.
