A large-scale fire has erupted in the UpGun area of eastern Freetown, causing extensive damage and the loss of property valued in the millions.

Reports confirm a devastating blaze has swept through the area, with initial assessments indicating significant destruction. The full extent of the damage and whether there have been any casualties is currently unclear.

Eyewitnesses said the fire broke out at around midnight in March 10th, 2025 at the Up Gun Scrap Yard and left many vehicles and spare parts engulfing in flames.

Emergency services are reportedly on the scene, working to contain the fire and assess the situation. So far efforts by local residents and fire force authorities to bring the blaze under control have proven unsuccessful.

This is a developing story, and updates will be provided as they become available.
