The Foundation of Islamic Information (FOISIL) has successfully conducted its 11th National Quranic Memorization Competition at the Amphitheater of Fourah Bay College.
This event which is of high significant to the Muslim community in Sierra Leone attracted thousands of attendees from across the country.
Held annually during the holy month of Ramadan, the competition is designed to promote Quranic education within the Muslim community. It stands as a testament to the community’s unwavering commitment to fostering spiritual and educational growth in Islam.
This year’s Quranic recitation competition featured both male and female categories, with four participants in each group. Hamide Bah emerged as the first runner-up and will represent Sierra Leone in the upcoming Quranic recitation competition in Dubai.
During the event, Chernor Maju Bah (Chericoco) had the honor of presenting the award to this year’s winner, a moment filled with pride and joy. His heartfelt words of encouragement inspired not only the winner but all participants, reinforcing the values of perseverance, dedication, and the pursuit of knowledge.
The competition not only showcases the talents of its participants but also reinforces the cultural and religious values associated with Quranic memorization and recitation, strengthening the bonds within the community.
