The Former Coalition For Change (C4C) party Mayor of Koidu New Sebehun City Council, Komba Sam on Wednesday 1 March 2023, declared to lead the Sierra Leones Peoples Party (SLPP) campaigns for President Julius Maada Bio ahead of June 24 2023, Presidential elections.
According to reports, the former C4C party Mayor of the Koidu New Sembehun City recently declared for the ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party, (SLPP) openly offered to champion the campaign for President Julius Maada Bio’s re-election.
The former Mayor reportedly said he wants to lead the Kono District people to the SLPP for a better Sierra Leone.
He stated that President Bio will win June 24 2023, election without a runoff adding, victory in the June 24 election will enable President Bio to accomplish many developments for Sierra Leoneans in the Kono District.
Komba Sam reportedly told the State House Media team that, Kono District stands with the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party because of the development President Bio has taken to the District in just five years in office.
“Today I am here to officially declare for SLPP under the leadership of President Julius Maada Bio.” He asserted.
The former mayor said announcing his support for President Maada Bio is a big achievement for him as a young man.
He stated that he has served the people of Kono District as Mayor of the C4C party for five years.
Komba Sam expressed that the New Direction administration is in the country to ensure that every Sierra Leone, irrespective of region, tribe or political party, Kono, in particular, will be transformed into a modern city.
“I have worked with His Excellency’s government and I know exactly what President Bio stands for and the development we have all achieved together as a government. So, in the interest of this municipality and the entire population of the Kono District, I have worked on, discussed with, and seen the many developments President Bio wants for this nation, including ongoing projects.”
He explained
He stated that as the Mayor of Koidu New Sembehun City, he wants to be part of the trajectory by making sure the District work towards achieving all developments in the pipeline.
In other news, 25-year-old Isata Feika Saffa, also an entrepreneur in Koidu city, described declaration day as very important in the lives of Sierra Leoneans in Kono District and the country as a whole.
She said they will stand by Mayor Komba Sam because of the choice he has made.
She reiterated that the Mayor is result oriented adding, he already has some tangible development municipality.
“We, the women, young people, and the elderly in Kono District, are here today not only to witness our mayor’s declaration ceremony for the SLPP party, but we are also here so that our mayor will not go to the SLPP party alone.” she reiterated.
Feika added that the District want the former mayor to continue as the Koidu city Mayor under the SLPP party.
She said they are more than happy and willing to give the former mayor their support.
