Four female Police recruits of Squad R-1 2023 stood in the spotlight at the Passing Out Ceremony held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Sierra Leone Peacekeeping and Law Enforcement Academy (SILEA), formerly known as Police Training School (PTS).

The awards, symbolizing excellence in different aspects of training, were distributed as follows:

PC 23157 Jeneba Kallon earned the title of Best Drill, showcasing precision and discipline.

PC 22531 Patience Musa secured the award for Top Shot, highlighting her exceptional marksmanship skills.

Haja Kamara was recognized as the Best Behaved recruit, reflecting her commitment to professionalism.

Finally, PC 22206 Sia Jabba was honored as the Best All Round Recruit, demonstrating outstanding performance across various training modules.

The Passing Out Ceremony, attended by the honorable Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, emphasized the government’s commitment to enhancing the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) in accordance with international standards.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sellu extended his congratulations to the 1,100 Police personnel who underwent six months of rigorous training. Addressing the audience, he sternly reiterated the zero-tolerance policy towards the use and abuse of narcotic drugs within the force, emphasizing that no one would be exempted from the strict enforcement.

The ceremony concluded on a high note, with the families of the four outstanding female officers joining the broader celebration of the accomplishments of Squad R-1 2023. The vibrant event not only recognized individual achievements but also underscored the collective dedication of the newly graduated police personnel in upholding law and order in Sierra Leone.
