This intense downpour poses significant risks of flooding, prompting authorities to issue urgent safety warnings.
Residents are advised to avoid disaster-prone areas like poorly maintained drainage channels, waterways, hillsides, and coastal regions. To minimize risks, the public is also urged to refrain from traveling to unfamiliar locations throughout the week.
The heavy rainfall comes after two days of continuous downpours that have already caused flooding and property damage in parts of Freetown. The Freetown Weather Alert emphasizes the importance of taking precautions to ensure safety during this severe weather event.
