The Ministry of Technical and Higher Education (MTHE) has officially announced the opening of applications for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s fully funded undergraduate and postgraduate (Master’s) scholarships for the academic year 2026/2027.

According to the public notice issued by the Ministry, the scholarships are open to eligible Sierra Leonean students and professionals who meet the academic and age requirements set by the host country. Applications must be submitted through the “Study in Saudi” portal at https://studyinsaudi.moe.gov.sa.

Eligibility Criteria

For Undergraduate Applicants:

Must present a WASSCE Statement of Result with grades between A1 and C4 in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.

Must not exceed 25 years of age by September 2026.

A one-page typed motivation letter is required.

For Master’s Applicants:

Must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least an Upper Second Class (2:1) or a Second Class (2:2) paired with a relevant postgraduate diploma or degree.

Applicants must be 35 years or younger by September 2026.

A minimum 500-word research or study proposal is required.

A one-page typed motivation letter is also mandatory.

The Ministry emphasized that women and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive access to higher education opportunities.

Application Deadlines

Undergraduate (Bachelor’s):

Online Submission Deadline: Thursday, 12th June 2025.

Hard Copy Submission Deadline: Same date for undergraduate applicants.

Postgraduate (Master’s):

Online Submission Deadline: Monday, 30th June 2025.

Hard Copy Submission Deadline: Monday, 30th June 2025.

 

Submission Guidelines

Applicants are required to submit both an online application via the designated portal and a hard copy of the application form along with all supporting documents. Hard copies must be hand-delivered to the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education at the SABABU Building, New England Ville, Freetown.
