In demonstrating solidarity, Vice President Dr. Juldeh Jalloh has delivered three shipments of vital medical supplies from Sierra Leone’s government to assist in treating victims of the tragic fire disaster in Conakry on Sunday evening, 17th December, 2023.
The substantial donation occurred at Defense Headquarters, where Vice President Jalloh handed over the supplies to the Ministers of Internal Security and Health, emphasizing a coordinated effort in managing the crisis aftermath.
Vice President Jalloh leads three specialized technical teams focused on Petroleum support, Disaster Management, and Medical personnel, showcasing a comprehensive approach to disaster relief. Reliable sources indicate ongoing efforts to finalize a plan for supplying petroleum products to Guinea, outlining a strategic and thorough response.
The atmosphere at Defense Headquarters resonated with emotion as Guinean officers expressed gratitude through applause and shouts of President Julius Maada Bio’s name, underscoring the impact of Sierra Leone’s prompt and generous intervention. President Bio’s timely and compassionate response has instilled immense pride in Sierra Leoneans, both at home and in Guinea, reflecting a commitment to regional cooperation and humanitarian assistance during crises.
The collaborative efforts between Sierra Leone and Guinea persist with a continued focus on providing essential resources and support to alleviate the suffering caused by the devastating fire. The international community observes with admiration the diplomatic and humanitarian gestures, highlighting the strength of unity in times of adversity.
God bless HE the president of Sierra Leone for that wonderful gesture. One has to be his or her neighbour’s keeper. Strengthening good relationship with neighbours is imperative since one country cannot all alone stand on its own. No one country is an Is-land. Against this back drop, I want to say again kudos to the Sierra Leone government and long live to HE Bio and his VP Dr. Jalloh.
That’s what we called sisterly love. We should have each other’s back.
