The Government of Sierra Leone, through the Ministry of Employment, Labour, and Social Security, has issued a public notice informing institutions and companies employing non-citizen or expatriate staff of a final extension for the submission of the required comprehensive staff list.
In the notice, the Ministry emphasized that the initial deadline for submission, set on 5th February 2025, has already passed.
However, in recognition that some institutions have yet to comply, the Ministry has granted a final extension of two weeks, or 14 working days, to ensure full adherence. The final deadline for submission is set for Friday, 21st March 2025.
All institutions are required to submit the list in hard copy, addressed to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry. The submission must include the following information for each expatriate staff member:
Full Name
Designation/Job Title
Qualifications
Period of Engagement
Job Responsibilities in Sierra Leone
The Ministry has made it clear that any institution failing to comply within the extended deadline will face appropriate measures, as stipulated under the Labour Laws of Sierra Leone. This extension is final, and no further extensions will be granted.
The Ministry of Employment, Labour, and Social Security urges all relevant institutions to ensure timely submission to avoid penalties.
