The Minister of Health and Sanitation, Austin Demby has turned the sod for the construction of the faculty of basic sciences at the College of Medicine and Applied Health Sciences -COMAHS at Kossoh town in the nation’s capital, Freetown.

The construction of the faculty project seeks to signify the commitment to excellence in the medical training, research and quality patient care in the sector.

The project is being implemented by the Government of Sierra Leone through the ministry of health and sanitation-MOHS working with the Tropical Environment Design Associates-TEDA as consultants.

The said project is funded by the Government of Sierra Leone and partner through the sexual and reproductive health and rights project.

The minister called on the administration and students of the University of Sierra Leone to own the project and have it monitored to attain its actual construction target.
