The recently appointed Director of Presidential Communications, Micheal Berewa has asserted that he decided to come on board to help fill the information gap that existed between the government and the people.

He made this assertion during AYV’s Hotseat program with Amadu Lamrama Bah.

According to Micheal Berewa the aftermath of August 10 violence changed his perception and decided to come on board to help fill the information gap that existed between the government and the people.

He said that President Bio trusted him to deliver and that’s why he entrusted him such huge responsibility.

The Director of Communications said that his job description is to bring the people closer to the president and the president closer to the people.

Berewa added that his role as Director of Communications is to provide leadership and oversight in the president’s communications unit.

He noted that he works together with the Press Secretary, the Presidential Spokesman, the Communications Manager, and the Strategic Communications Unit.

“I am not above anybody… I am her to work with people. I am here to add value to the team,” he said.
Berewa furthered that he doesn’t even the role and responsibilities and the ToR of the others, noting that he has recently got his appointment and will have to engage the other apparatus at State House.

He went to state that he only report to President Bio, adding that he will focus more on outreach engagement that will bring the president closer to the people.

“I am here to fill the information gap between the government and the people,” he asserted.
