The Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, has met with the Consul General of Italy, Dr. Luigi Manganiello, to discuss partnerships aimed at promoting youth participation in agriculture.
The meeting, held at the Ministry of Youth Affairs in Freetown, focused on the Minister’s Strategic Road Map, particularly Pillar One, which prioritizes youth-led agricultural initiatives with a focus on innovation and sustainability. The initiative seeks to transform agriculture into a viable sector for economic growth and youth empowerment.
“I’m not here to play, I’m here to deliver for the youth,” Minister Sannoh said, affirming his commitment to results-driven leadership and solutions that prioritize the needs of young people.
During the discussions, Dr. Manganiello expressed support for the Minister’s vision and highlighted the potential for collaboration between Italy and Sierra Leone in advancing modern, sustainable agriculture.
Notably, the meeting is part of the Ministry’s broader efforts to address youth unemployment and foster economic development through agribusiness, with the Ministry aiming to create more opportunities for young people in agriculture as part of its strategy to promote national development.
