The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Karim Asad Ahmad Khan KC has arrived in Freetown Sierra Leone on an official visit.

According to Journalist Amadu Lamarana Bah, He is expected to meet with Vice President Juldeh Jalloh. He will also be hosted this afternoon at the Sierra Leone Law School to present a lecture on the role of the ICC Prosecutor.

It is not clear if He will meet President Julius Maada Bio who is currently enroute China with the First Lady Fatima Bio on an official state visit.

Earlier in September, the Prosecutor met with President Bio on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

In a tweet, the ICC said the meeting centered around positive discussions on strengthening cooperation and deepening regional dialogue in fulfillment of the Rome Statute.

After the meeting, President Bio expressed delight at the event adding that it was a discussion about Sierra Leone’s leadership at the International Criminal Court and our tenure as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
