Freetown Mayor, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr Released From Detention
Binta Koroma The Mayor of Freetown, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr was yesterday released from police custody late in the day after the Sierra Leone police granted her bail.
Freetown Mayor Aki-Sawyerr was in the late hours of yesterday, the 13th October, 2022 detained at the Criminal Investigations Department, Head Quarter of the Sierra Leone police.
This followed after she had been invited by the police at the CID quarters for questioning over a matter of police obstruction and disorderly behaviour.
After a while in police custody, she was granted bail and released from detention.
However she will be charged to court by Monday, the 17th October on the allegations of police obstruction and disorderly behavior.
