Vice President of Sierra Leone, Mohamed Juldeh has hosted prominent Americana Islamic Scholar Sheik Khalid Yasin in Freetown.
Sierra Leonean Islamic leaders and eminent personalities were also present at the meeting. One of them is popular female journalist, Asmaa James.
“It was indeed an honor for me to be among eminent Islamic leaders, at the invitation of the Vice President of Sierra Leone, Dr. Juldeh Jalloh, in welcoming Sheikh Khalid Yassin, a distinguished American Islamic Scholar,” she wrote on her social media page.
Shaykh Khalid Yasin is in Sierra Leone as a special Guest Speaker in the National Dawah Conference Program. This is my first-time visit to Sierra Leone. The theme for the said event is “Islamic solutions to Social Problems”.
Khalid Yasin is an American Islamic scholar and former Christian who travels around the world giving lectures. He was born in Harlem, New York, and raised in Brooklyn with nine siblings as a Christian. Due to his family’s financial situation, he was placed for adoption.
He was raised in foster homes with some of his siblings from the age of three until he was 15
