The Vice President of Sierra Leone, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh has on the morning hours of today paid unannounced visit to the Kingharman Maternal and Child Health Hospital and the Connaught Hospital after doctors in the country agreed to resume work.

The Vice President used the visit to thank hospital staff particularly matrons, nurses and other health care staff for their hard work and dedication.

The hospital staff also thanked the Vice President for his continued interest and support to the health sector and his efforts to resolve the Sierra Leone Medical and Dental Association (SLMDA) strikes action as the doctors have fully resumed work.

“On my way to work this morning, I made a stopover at the King Harman Road Maternal and Child Health Hospital and later the Connaught Hospital. I was very pleased to see both hospitals in good sanitary conditions providing good quality of care. I thanked the hospital staff, particularly the matrons and nurses for their hard work, dedication in keeping the hospitals running over the last few days. I reiterated Government’s commitment to expanding the investment in healthcare for Sierra Leoneans and more so continue to improve working conditions for health professionals,” Vice President Jalloh posted on social media.
