Corruption in Africa has been a major challenge for it growth and success over the years. As a way of combating it, countries set up Anti corruption commission to help in combating corruption. Commissioners assigned with this trust have been trying their best to put a stop to this practice.

Sierra Leone’s Anti corruption commissioner Francis Ben Kaifala has reacted to a decision to be made by the President of Liberia to dissolve the Anti corruption commission in that country.

It is said that, the legislature has passed a law to dissolve the commission and replace it with another body.

Francis Ben Kaifala said, this is in retaliation of the commission’s proactive work they have been doing.

He concluded by praying good sense prevails, so president Weah does not approve move, which he describe as dangerous move in the fight against corruption in Africa.

“My heart goes out to my colleagues at the Liberia Anti-corruption Commission (LACC). I am reliably informed that the Executive proposed and the Legislature has passed a law to DISSOLVE the Commission and replace it with a powerless body; in retaliation for their recent proactive work. I pray that good sense prevails and President Weah does not approve such a dangerous move against the fight Against Corruption in Africa”., He said.
