The Leader of the National Grand Coalition(NGC), Hon Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella, has on Friday 28 October 2022 moved a motion asking Parliament to summon the Minister of Finance, the Bank Governor and other stakeholders charged to manage the country’s economy.

This according to Yumkella is for them to explain to Parliament the measures they have put in place to mitigate the current dire economic situation of the country.

He made this motion in the context of the global food, fuel and finance crisis, and was put for consideration to the members of Parliament. It was carried unanimously.

It should be recalled that during the 77th session of the UNGA last September, Hon Kandeh Yumkella chaired events at the UN bringing together African and European leaders to dialogue on several topics including: Agri-food systems: Increasing resilience to shocks and crises”.

Yesterday, Hon KKY formally submitted the notice of motion to summon the Ministers and the chairman of NEC to answer questions about the PR system.
