Coach Keister Optimistic of Leone Stars Chances Against Nigeria
Mohamed Foday Conteh Sierra Leone head coach, John Keister said he is optimistic that his side, Leone Stars will get at least a point when they face Nigeria in Freetown this June.
The Sierra Leone National Team has regained renewed hope after they defeated São Tomé and Principé on Sunday by 2 goals to nil.
The team’s success came after failing to win against the minnows of Group A playing to a 2-2 draw. Leones Stars fell twice to The Parrots and True Falcons Team.
Leone Stars now seat at third position with 5 points with games against leaders Nigeria and second place Guinea-Bissau remaining.
Sierra Leone is two points behind Guinea-Bissau and four points shy of first-place Nigeria.
Only two teams are eligible to qualify for the African Cup of Nations which will take place in Ivory Coast next year.
