In a decisive move toward reinforcing fiscal transparency and governance, the Audit Service Sierra Leone (ASSL) on Thursday concluded an official exit meeting with the Koidu New Sembehun City Council (KNSCC), wrapping up its audit of the Council’s 2024 financial operations.
The meeting, which took place at the Council’s chambers, served as a formal platform for the ASSL to share preliminary audit findings and observations.
The auditors highlighted several areas of concern, particularly in financial management and procurement procedures, emphasizing the need for improved compliance with public financial regulations.
City council officials were given the opportunity to respond to the findings, clarify points of concern, and submit additional documentation.
