British High Commissioner to Sierra Leone Josephine Gauld has presented the Queen Elizabeth II Commonwealth Trust 100 Young Leaders Award to Sierra Leonean youth leader Komrabai Dumbuya in recognition of his leadership and contribution to sustainable development.
Dumbuya was recognised for his work with Wanwod Development SL Ltd, a climate-focused enterprise promoting sustainable livelihoods and climate-smart agriculture among rural communities in Sierra Leone.
The Queen Elizabeth II Commonwealth Trust 100 Young Leaders Award recognises outstanding young people across the Commonwealth who are making a positive impact in their communities and contributing to sustainable development, social change and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Dumbuya’s recognition marks Sierra Leone’s first representation among the 100 young leaders selected from thousands of applicants across the Commonwealth.
His work through Wanwod Development SL Ltd focuses on supporting rural communities to adopt climate-smart agricultural practices while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities and building resilience to the impacts of climate change.
The award places Dumbuya among a distinguished group of young Commonwealth leaders whose work is contributing to positive change and inspiring further action within their communities.
