The Nurses Council of Sierra Leone has granted full accreditation to Kono University of Science and Technology (KUST) to offer nursing programmes.

The official accreditation letter was presented at the Nurses Council headquarters in New England, Freetown, where the Council’s Registrar formally handed the document to Mr. Alpha A. Jalloh, Registrar of KUST.

Mr. Jalloh received the accreditation on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor and the university administration and expressed appreciation to the Nurses Council for granting the institution accreditation.

He reaffirmed KUST’s commitment to maintaining high standards in nursing education and professional practice.

The accreditation is expected to expand opportunities for students in Kono District and provide a local pathway for those seeking professional training in nursing.

If officially confirmed, KUST becomes the only accredited institution in Kono District authorised to offer nursing programmes, marking a significant development for healthcare education in the district.

Congratulations, the university administration has to move now for social sciences, medical doctor courses, engineering, law, and geology departments.

Kono deserves more to come and the district can deliver more than what they are giving them, thank you for considering us
