Lawyer Writes Chief of Defense Staff About Attacks on Freetown’s Mayor
Mohamed Aruna JFK and Partners, lawyers for Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyer and Lansana Dumbuya, Esq. has written to the chief defence staff about unprovoked attacks by Armed forces personnel on their clients in a letter dated 24th February 2023.
The letter further titled ‘’Alleged systematic and unprovoked attacks on civilians perpetrated by armed forces personnel deployed at the presidential lodge checkpoint on 22nd February 2023’’ in which they write on the instructions of their clients Lansana Dumbuya, Esq. Secretary-General of the All Peoples’ Congress party (APC) and the Mayor of the Freetown municipality, Yvonne Aki-Sawyer.
They implore the Chief Defense Staff to take appropriate measures to reassure the public and allay fears of a compromised military.
