The Mayor of Freetown, Yvonne Aki-Sawyer has recovered from COVID-19 after being tested negative by NaCOVERC.

Her Worship was tested positive of the virus few days ago when she invited a team from NaCOVERC to test her status and her staff status. It was unfortunate for her that she became positive when the results were released.

The positive test result of Her Worship brought a lot of questions to the public as she took the vaccine twice. Mayor was among the first badge that took the vaccine with the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Julius Maada Bio and other government officials. She later took another shot at her Freetown City Council office with couple of her staff. This brought a lot of questions concerning the strength of the vaccine to prevent you from getting the virus.

Her Worship has been in the frontline to fight against Covid-19. She made provisions for her staff at Freetown City Council to get tested and vaccinated. All Covid-19 measures are observed in her office. After being tested positive few days ago, she asked her staff to do further test as she always interacts with them. She self-isolated herself from her family and staff after being tested positive.

Finally, she has made another test which have confirmed her negative.
NaCOVERC says my PCR test is negative! I do not have enough words to thank my family, friends & the many, many Freetonians who expressed concern, sent me messages of encouragement & prayed for me, may God bless you all. #MaskUp #WashHands #GetVaccinated #CovidIsReal”, she tweeted.

She expressed her thanks to her family, friends and Freetonians for their concerns.
