Acting Southern Region Resident Minister, Hon. KES Boyah made his first official visit to the regional office situated at Tikonko Road, Bo district on Tuesday 27 February 2023.
Bayor was appointed as acting Souther Region minister on 23 February 2023. His appointment came about as a result of the departure of the substantive Resident Minister Southern Region-Morie Alie.
The visit of the tentative Resident Minister was to formally take charge of the Region as mandated by the Secretary from the office of the President in discharging his duties.
The Minister was received by Provincial Secretary South, Moses Gbettu, and Staff, who welcomed and thanked him for promptly adhering to the calls of the President to Act as Minister of the Southern region.
He said the Administrative Wing of the Office remains intact, adding that they can only succeed when the political wing is functioning properly.
Giving a situational update, he rolled out the successes his office has gained under the Leadership of the Substantive Resident Minister, ranging from the rehabilitation of the entire office building, the ongoing construction of the Resident Minister’s Lodge, the ongoing construction of the Presidential Lodge, and the good working relationship with other MDAs, etc.
On the challenges, he stressed that the office is constrained with administrative staff as most of the senior staff are now retired, and some including himself are on the verge of retirement.
In his response, Rtd. Brigadier KES Boyah encouraged the Staff to work as a Team until his colleague returns, adding that his office does not need a middleman as every Staff is equal to him.
He assured them that they should always check on him and discuss issues that have dealings with the office to ensure a very good working atmosphere.
