“For over months now, I have not seen any of my lawyers, nor received phone calls from any of them,” Mr. Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray, an inmate and accused person standing sexual penetration trial said at the High Court of the Sexual Offences Model Court on main Law Court Building, Siaka Steven Street in Freetown.

The opposition politician and former 2018 Presidential Flagbearer of Alliance Democratic Party (ADP), Mr. Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray in a frustrating mood and cool tone; and speaking from the dock told the trial Judge Justice Samuel Omodale Taylor, on Thursday 7th July 2022.

The Court has adjourned Mr. Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray`s Sexual Penetration matter to the 21st July 2022 for continuation of his (Kamarainba) defense which has since been closed and for the second accused person, Marion Aruni to open her defense.

Mr. Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray is still on remand at the Maximum Male Correctional Centre on Pademba Road in Freetown having failed to surrender his United State of America Passport to the Master and Registrar as a criterion for bail.

 

Both accused persons were in early 2022 granted bail and with sureties to stand in their recognisance. The bail conditions was fulfiled by the second accused person, Madam Marion Aruni who has been on bail and attending trial, while the first accused person Mr. Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray is yet to fulfill his bail condition and has since his arrest in 2020 has been on remand.

The accused persons are before the Court answering to related seven counts indictment, contrary to law. In the particulars of offence, the State alleged that in 2020, Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray sexually penetrated a fifteen- year old girl and a Junior Secondary School (JSS3) Pupil in Kono
