Former Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Spokesperson and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Lahai Lawrence Leema, has alleged that the ruling party is in possession of a will left by his late father containing an inheritance he says was intended for him.
Speaking during an interview on Truth Media’s Morning Devotion programme, Leema claimed that his father left a will before his death and alleged that the SLPP has knowledge of the document and its contents.
Leema did not provide details on how the SLPP allegedly came into possession of the will or explain the specific nature or value of the inheritance. His claims have, however, raised questions about his relationship with the party and the circumstances surrounding the alleged document.
The former SLPP official also disclosed that he has stopped actively participating in the party and is demanding the return of money he says he deposited into the Treasury as part of an arrangement to upgrade his party membership to Distinguished Grand Chief Patron.
“I have raised several concerns about the money deposited in the Treasury to upgrade my membership as Distinguished Grand Chief Patron, and up till now nobody is saying anything to me. I want my money back,” Leema said.
His remarks point to growing concerns over his relationship with the ruling party, particularly regarding the alleged inheritance and the funds he says were paid in connection with his membership upgrade.
Leema’s claims remain allegations, and no response from the SLPP regarding the alleged will or his demand for the return of the funds was provided in the information available for this report.
