MPC of The Bank of Sierra Leone Raises Monetary Policy Rate in Sierra Leone

The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Bank of Sierra Leone (BSL), has after a thoughtful assessment of the recent global and domestic macroeconomic developments and their implications for price and financial stability in Sierra Leone, decided to raise the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) by 75 basis points to 15.0 percent.

The MPC of the Bank of Sierra Leone made this announcement on its Press Statement issued out on the 5^th April 2022.

I believe as a news source, your responsibility is to further explain this article for the layman not just put out the release from BSL. Don't you have economists who can explain the implications of the above release to the woman in the village?
