The National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) has unveiled several rehabilitated community projects in Taiama Town, Kori Chiefdom, Moyamba District, reaffirming the Government of Sierra Leone’s commitment to improving public infrastructure and community development.

Officially commissioned on Friday, 10 July 2026, the projects include the rehabilitated Native Administration (NA) Court Barray, the Taiama Town Centre Market, the MDEC Primary School, and a community tap water project that commenced in late 2025 and was completed in June 2026.

The commissioning ceremony attracted a large gathering of residents and dignitaries from across Kori Chiefdom. Those in attendance included the Paramount Chief of Kori Chiefdom, PC Thomas B. Gappi IV; the Chiefdom Speaker, Rev. Sorie B. Kamanda; Member of Parliament for Constituency Cluster 098, Hon. Sylvester Boima; the Councillor for Ward 346, Ernest Ngenda Sama; senior NaCSA officials, including the Deputy Commissioner; and the Commissioner of NaCSA, Ambassador Ernest Bamba Ndomahina.

Speaking during the ceremony, Commissioner Ndomahina underscored the importance of peace, unity, and collective responsibility in sustaining development gains. He encouraged residents to take ownership of the rehabilitated facilities by protecting and maintaining them to ensure they continue to serve the community for generations to come.

The Commissioner further assured residents that the Government of Sierra Leone, under the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) administration, remains committed to implementing additional development initiatives in Kori Chiefdom and across Moyamba District.

Residents welcomed the completion of the projects, describing them as timely interventions that will improve access to essential services, strengthen local governance, enhance education, provide clean and safe drinking water, and stimulate economic activity through an improved market environment.

The ceremony concluded with expressions of appreciation from local authorities and residents, who thanked the Government of Sierra Leone and NaCSA for their continued investment in the development and well-being of the people of Taiama Town and Kori Chiefdom.
