The National Communications Authority (NatCA) has reassured the public that it is closely monitoring ongoing cybersecurity incidents affecting digital services across Sierra Leone.
In a public notice issued on Thursday, 30th July 2026, NatCA said it is working with relevant government institutions, law enforcement agencies, licensed telecommunications operators, and other stakeholders to support a coordinated response to the situation.
As the regulator of the electronic communications sector, NatCA reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the security, resilience, and integrity of Sierra Leone’s digital communications infrastructure.
The Authority has called on communications service providers and digital platforms to strengthen their cybersecurity measures, promptly report any incidents, and comply with established security standards.
NatCA also urged members of the public to remain vigilant by avoiding suspicious links and messages, protecting their personal information, and enabling multi-factor authentication on platforms where the option is available.
The Authority noted that cybersecurity remains a shared responsibility and assured the public that it will continue to monitor developments and provide updates through its official communication channels as necessary.
NatCA further stated that it will continue collaborating with stakeholders to strengthen Sierra Leone’s cyber resilience and safeguard the country’s digital ecosystem.
