Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, David Sengeh has provided statistics for the use of the SMS Exam Result Checker by the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education since it was launched by the Directorate of Science and Technology and Innovation.

The Minister stated that the SMS Exam Result Checker is an example of transformational technology in the educational sector.

He said this has helped save money for families who have made use of the facility over the past three years.

According to the statistics, 9,762,591 have used the SMS Exam Result Checker since it was launched, with 14,654,612 SMSs processed since it existence, and 1,034,585 reach.

The statistics also revealed that 40% of National Primary School Examination (NPSE) has made use of the facility with close to 40% from the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BEC), West African Secondary School Education 10% usage.
